Quick Shot: Dragon Rage

Wanna fight fire with fire?

Are you tired of Army men shoot-em-ups? Looking for an action game to spice up your life? Well, perhaps 3DO has the answer. Dragon Rage is a title currently in development at 3DO and it promises players the medieval action we've always craved - being able to play as the dragon instead of being fried by him. Dragon Rage thrusts players into a medieval world where the Orcs rule and the Dragons fight back. You are Cael, on a mission to free other dragons imprisoned by the Orcs and wreak havoc on the Orc race in general.

You see, the Orcs currently dominate by powering their weapons with Zeenium, a magical element found in Dragon Eggs. This doesn't bode well for Dragons as they become weakened and are easily enslaved and made to work as farm animals. Through a twist of fate, Cael regains his magical powers and is out kicking Orc ass and laying waste to their villages.

Dragon Rage employs an aerial fighting style similar to the Air Attack series, but promises an all new engine. Cael has the basic fire-breathing attack, a mass destruction weapon called Fury Attack, plus physical attacks like the whip of a tail and the grab 'em up and drop 'em to their death method. Oh, and you get to eat people too. Cool, eh? And what would a medieval game be without a healthy dose of magic? Cael is able to pick up magic gems, becoming enchanted, and this changes his basic and mass attack depending on which of the 4 elements of fire, water, earth and air the gem is composed of. For instance, if its a water gem, his basic attack changes from fire to deadly ice shards, and his mass attack becomes a Water Fury Attack, and so on. Hopefully, this will leave things open for some exciting aerial warfare.
